Scottie Croy, 42, and Jeffrey Croy, 39, died Dec. 29 in the fire at their home on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Kingston.

KINGSTON, GA — Friends and family will say goodbye to the two brothers who perished in a fatal house fire last month in Bartow County. The funeral service for Scottie Croy, 42, and Jeffrey Croy, 39, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10 at the South Canton Funeral Home in Cherokee County.
The Croy family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9 and 10 a.m. to the funeral hour on Jan. 10.
Bartow County firefighters were dispatched around 1:29 a.m. Dec. 29 to the call of the fire at 24 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Kingston. They arrived on the scene to find the single story house with "moderate fire and heavy smoke showing," Bartow County Fire Department Division Chief David Levey told Patch.

While beginning its initial attack on the fire, crews came upon an elderly man and woman who escaped the house fire. They told firefighters that their two sons were still inside the home. Firefighters performed a search and removed the brothers from the house.
EMS officials attempted to revive both victims, but they were unsuccessful. The Georgia Insurance Commissioner's Office determined to be accidental and possibly caused by an electrical malfunction, spokesperson Glenn Allen previously told Patch.

The brothers' parents, David Croy, 68, and Glenda Croy, 69, were transported to area hospitals where they were treated. A GoFundMe page has been established to help the family through this difficult time. The campaign is hoping to raise $5,000 and as of Monday, $3,935 has been donated to the cause.
According to the page, David Croy has been released from Floyd Medical Center and "is doing well, as can be expected after losing two sons to this tragedy." Unfortunately, Glenda Coy remains hospitalized at WellStar Cobb Hospital in Austell.
The two men were preceded in death by their grandparents, according to the obituary. Along with their parents, they are survived by brothers, Wayne (Carla) Payne and Richard (Brandi) Croy and several nieces and nephews.
Along with flowers, contributions can be made to cover the funeral expenses on the GoFundMe page or directly to South Canton Funeral Home.
