Georgia Weekend Weather Forecast: Thunderstorms Brewing

GEORGIA -- Thunderstorms are predicted in Georgia, starting Saturday, with a 20 percent chance, and growing more severe Sunday and Sunday night with a 40 percent chance, according to the National Weather Service. A strong area of low pressure is developing across the southern Plains will move northeastward across the Mississippi Valley starting Saturday, which could affect Georgia.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to develop across parts of Texas Friday night, and move across Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi on Saturday and could enter Georgia Saturday or Sunday. A few strong tornadoes, wind damage and large hail will be possible.

So be prepared for severe thunderstorms this weekend. This potentially volatile combination of ingredients may give rise to an outbreak of severe thunderstorms across the South.
