The Great Lake Allatoona Clean Up Returns in September

The event, which has been going on for more than 30 years, attracted 3,200 volunteers who collected 11 tons of trash in 2015.

The 31st annual Great Lake Allatoona Clean Up will soon be upon us.

For over 30 years, thousands of Great Lake Allatoona Clean Up volunteers have gathered along the banks of Lake Allatoona on a September morning to be a part of one of the largest events of its kind in the country.

In 2015, 3,200 volunteers picked up 11 tons of trash along the lake shore in a three-hour period.
