Intoxicated Woman Found Lying in Grass on Roadside After Alleged Assault on Store Clerk
She was belligerent and had trouble maintaining her balance, according to police.

A Bartow County woman was arrested Monday when found lying in the grass on a roadside in Cartersville after allegedly trying to assault a store clerk.
An employee of the Step and Fetch at 1911 Joe Frank Harris Parkway called authorities about 6:40 p.m. to report a woman who had asked to use the restroom became irate when told it was out of order, according to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office incident report, above.

The woman, who was intoxicated, allegedly "began to argue with one of the clerks and reached across the counter in an attempt to grab the clerk," the report says.
The employees did not want to press charges, and the deputy left, turning left on Mac Johnson Road, and found Terri Lynn West, 49, of Black Road in White, lying in the tall grass on her stomach on the south side of the roadway.
The deputy reported West had a strong odor of alcohol coming from her breath; had trouble maintaining her balance, slurred speech and glassy eyes; and was belligerent toward him.
West, who denied going inside the Step and Fetch, was arrested and charged with pedestrian under the influence because she was unable to care for herself, according to the report. Â
