LakePoint Opens Largest Indoor Sports Facility in Southeast

EMERSON, GA -- LakePoint Sporting Community this week hosted the grand opening of its new indoor facility.

The grand opening also served as the celebration of the facility serving as the host site for the first ever adidas Atlanta Memorial Day Classic. 

The boys’ basketball tournament was held at LakePoint’s South Campus May 28–30. adidas' event brought more than 140 youth basketball teams with age groups ranging from 14u – 17u.

The adidas Atlanta Memorial Day Classic is a part of the adidas Uprising Gauntlet Series. The grassroots program puts on high-caliber basketball tournaments across the nation, showcasing youth and high school talent in front of top coaches and scouts.

The LakePoint Indoor Facility was selected as the host site for "its unique ability to entertain large sporting events in a 5-star facility," the company said. The 12 basketball courts, food court, meeting rooms, and spectacular viewing areas for spectators, make the Indoor Facility a perfect fit for the adidas Atlanta Memorial Day Classic.

LakePoint’s Indoor Facility will be the largest indoor sports facility in the southeast. Encompassing 170,000-square-feet, the Facility includes 12 hardwood basketball courts, which can be converted to 24 volleyball courts. The state-of-the-art building has 125,500 square feet of clear span, column free floor space, giving LakePoint the unique capability to host a wide range of indoor events year round.

With the announcement of this tournament, LakePoint continues its tradition of hosting top-tier competition and events from across the country.
