Man Found Dead In Cartersville House Fire Identified
A memorial service for Charles Vincent "Chuck" Crowe, 64 will be held Nov. 15 at Sam Jones United Methodist Church.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The Bartow County man who died early Wednesday morning in a house fire has been identified. Cartersville firefighters discovered the body of Charles Vincent "Chuck" Crowe, 64, after responding to the fire at a home on Oakland Street around 6:47 a.m. Nov 8.
The victim's identity was confirmed by Bartow County Coroner Joel Guyton. The home suffered moderate damage stemming from the fire, Cartersville Deputy Fire Chief Ray King previously told Patch.
King said the cause and origin of the fire remains under investigation.

According to his obituary, Crowe is survived by his wife, Alice; daughters, Sarah (Curt) Chapman, Alice (David) Ramey, Emily (Michael) Hudson; son, Charles Vincent Crowe IV (Josh Saylor); granddaughters, Mallie Chapman, Anna Ramey, Isabell Ramey, Margaret Rose Hudson and Lucy Hudson; mother, Lelia Pittman Crowe Johnson; brother, Robert Pittman (Laurie) Crowe; sister, Lelia Ann (James) Mackey and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. His father, Charles Vincent Crowe Jr,. and stepfather, Edward Harold Johnson, preceded him in death.
Crowe graduated from Cartersville High School and obtained his business administration degree from Kennesaw State University. He retired from Murata Electronics North America, Inc. after 20 years traveling the world as the company materials management supervisor. He was a lifelong member of Sam Jones Memorial United Methodist Church, an avid Bartow history buff and loved traversing the back roads of the county.

"Chuck adored his five granddaughters and enjoyed spending time and sharing historical family tidbits with them," his obituary added.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15 at Sam Jones UMC, with the family receiving friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial d onations may be made to a charity of choice. However the family suggests considering contributions to Sam Jones United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
