
Bartow County authorities have released an report detailing the circumstances of a man's attempted suicide at the courthouse in Cartersville.
Deputies guarding the Frank Moore Administration and Judicial building say Jamie Lamar Green, 41, of Camp Sunrise NW in Cartersville, "entered the threshold area" Tuesday about 12:35 p.m. and "without uttering a word began slashing his throat (neck area) with a cutting instrument using his right hand," according to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office incident report, above.

"With his left hand he began pulling at his collar," the report says, which adds deputies saw "what appeared to be blood spewing from his neck area."Â
Despite "loud verbal commands" to drop the weapon, described as a mini meat cleaver, Green attempted to flee the area and refused to drop it.

A deputy Tased Green, "which halted any other harmful acts," the reports says.Â
Green was due in court at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday for a calendar call in preparation for a round of jury trials set for next week.
