RSO Celebrates Veterans with Free concert!

This exciting concert honors sports and military heroes with a music-filled tribute with classical performances of Copland’s “Fanfare for the Common Man,” and Barber’s “Adagio for Strings.” Also included are film score themes including; Remember the Titans, Chariots of Fire, Gladiator, and featuring the Berry Drum Line Corps who will amaze you with their award-winning percussion performance. The Berry College Viking Drumline is renowned for its tight and energizing performances, outstanding school spirit and talented student performers. Directed by John David, the ensemble performs music ranging from classic drum cheers and cadences to exciting works from STOMP and Drum Corps International.
Maestro Dokken conducts the RSO symphony as they perform the regional premiere of the award-winning “Symphony for the Sons of Nam” composed by Capt. James "Kimo" Williams. Written to reflect the composer’s own experience in the Viet Nam war.
This concert is free of charge to all veterans (with proper ID) and guest of veterans receive military rate of $12.00 advance purchase or $17.00 night of concert.
