School Bus Routes Stopped, Parents Told To Pick Up Children
BREAKING: The Bartow County School System is now releasing all students and staff from elementary, middle and high school.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- All school bus routes have stopped in Bartow County, and the school system is informing parents and guardians to come and retrieve their children from school. That is the message the system dispatched around 10 a.m. Friday, as weather conditions continue to deteriorate around the county.
"Due to changing weather conditions in Bartow County, we are releasing students and staff at all elementary, middle, and high schools now," the system said. "All bus routes have now stopped. We ask that parents pick up their children at this time. Again, this applies to all elementary, middle, and high schools. Thank you for your patience, as we work with the Georgia Emergency Management Agency to keep all our children and faculty members safe."
The system, along with the Cartersville City School System, initially decided to release students early, as a Winter Storm Warning was issued for Bartow and surrounding counties. That warning is set to remain in effect until 7 a.m. Saturday.
