Snow Showers Possible In Cartersville This Week: NWS

Temperatures are forecast to drop as low as 25.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — The mercury is expected to drop in Cartersville this week, and snow and showers are possible, according to the National Weather Service.

The week will begin with windy days and gusty conditions between 20 and 40 miles per hour, according to a hazardous weather warning from the National Weather Service. High winds are possible Monday afternoon into Tuesday afternoon.

Some areas in Murray, Gilmer and Fannin counties could also see between 2 and 4 inches of snow between Monday and Tuesday morning. Light accumulations of less than an inch of snow are possible across the northeast Georgia region as well, according to the NWS.

Looking ahead to the weekend, chances of rain and snow showers are also possible Saturday night into Sunday morning.

  • Tuesday: A windy night will give way on Tuesday to sunny skies and a high around 44 degrees. Gusty winds will continue throughout the day, and an overnight low of 25 degrees is expected.
  • Wednesday: Sunny skies will prevail as temperatures climb to near 49 degrees before falling to around 28 overnight.
  • Thursday: Clouds will move into the region as temperatures climb to around 57 degrees. Overnight, a 50 percent chance of showers is possible as temperatures fall to 42 degrees.
  • Friday: Showers are possible throughout the day as temperatures climb to 57 degrees before falling to around 35 overnight.
  • Saturday: A partly cloudy day with a high near 53 is ahead, but overnight conditions could bring with it a chance of rain and snow showers. Temperatures will drop to around 31 degrees.
  • Sunday: The chance of rain and snow showers continues as temperatures climb to around 43 degrees.
