'They Answered the Call' Author to Speak at Bartow History Museum

Author Sal Amico will discuss his book, a collection of World War II accounts as told by local veterans, and other information.

From Bartow History Museum: On Thursday, June 29, at 7 p.m., the Bartow History Museum welcomes author Sal Amico, who will discuss his book, They Answered the Call, a collection of World War II accounts as told by local veterans as well as other information about the war. On a national perspective, according to Amico, “…three things that listeners will find of extreme interest are that 750 U.S. G.I.'s were killed, and several ships were sunk just a couple of months before the actual D-Day landings; more about the other U.S. Navy disaster at Pearl Harbor; and information on another death march that was just as bad as the Bataan Death March.” His book is available at the Bartow History Museum gift shop. The lecture is free for members and is included in the price of admission to the museum for non-members.
