Toyo Tires To Ramp Up, Resume Manufacturing On May 3
One of Bartow's biggest employers, Toyo suspended manufacturing last month as the coronavirus pandemic hurt its business.
BARTOW COUNTY, GA — Toyo Tires, one of Bartow County’s biggest employers, announced Thursday that it will resume manufacturing tires at its plant in White on May 3.
“Production will be ramped gradually, and our plan is to bring back all of our employees on a revised shift schedule,” Toyo vice president James Bourne said in an emailed statement. All operations will be “in accordance with the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”
Toyo suspended most operations at its Bartow plant in late March because of how the coronavirus pandemic had hurt its business. At the time, Toyo announced that management expected to resume manufacturing on April 19.
