2 Children Struck by Car While Riding Bikes on McDaniel Street

The Atlanta Police Department has confirmed that a boy and a girl were struck while riding their bikes Monday afternoon.  The incident occurred at the intersection of Roy and McDaniel street, near the Pittsburg community.

According to APD information officer, Gregory Lyon, the two were struck by a 2007 Lexus ES350 after the kids came down a hill and failed to stop at the intersection.  The children were transported to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. The girl was in critical condition and the boy's injuries were said to be minor.

The driver of the vehicle did not flee the scene and was present when police arrived.  It is expected that NO charges will be filed against the driver.
