BREAKING: A gunman is in custody after four people were shot, one fatally, at MARTA's West Lake train station.
ATLANTA, GA -- Atlanta police have launched an investigation after one person was killed and three wounded in a shooting at the West Lake MARTA station in northwest Atlanta, officials said.
A suspect was detained by law enforcement officers, bringing an end to the incident about 4:30 p.m., according to news reports. Images from news choppers showed paramedic trucks on the scene outside the MARTA station, which is located at 80 Anderson Avenue near Martin Luther King Boulevard.
The West Lake MARTA station was shut down during the brunt of the evening rush hour Thursday after the quadruple shooting. Instead of rail service, MARTA was making ground transportation available to riders en route to other destinations, the agency said.
