Barbershop Owner Celebrates Birthday, Career at Paschal's

Friends, family, members of the Professional Black Barbers Association and customers from across the greater Cascade area gathered Thursday night to salute barbershop owner George Axam at Paschal's Restaurant, 180 Northside Dr.

Axam—who turns 87 on Tues., Aug. 30—has been a barber in southwest Atlanta since the mid-1940s and a barbershop owner since 1956.
