Atlanta Fire and Rescue spokesman Capt. Jolyon Bundridge said firefighters were notified of the body just before 3 p.m., according to a story posted late Monday afternoon on The Atlanta Journal-Constitution site.
The body was discovered on St. Johns Ave., just off of Pryor Street near the Aaron’s Amphitheater at Lakewood, according to the AJC story and a report on WSB-TV website.
Homicide detectives are evaluating the situation, Lt. Paul Guerrucci told the AJC.
A neighbor, Brandy Farmer, described the scene to WSB TV.
“The paramedics said it was a black female,” Farmer said. “We do know that she has on khaki pants. She’s buried face-down with her feet in the air.”
The woman’s body hasn’t been identified yet, but Farmer said one thought came to mind when she saw it.
“The first thing that touched me … it’s Stacey English,” she said.
