(Updated) Black Male Employment at Lowest Point in Four Decades

The percentage of black men with jobs last month dropped to its lowest point in 40 years, according to Kelley Bass Jackson's post of a Washington Post article on Facebook.

Kelley Bass Jackson, Assistant Director of Communications for the State of Georgia Department of Law, stays on top of the news and shares it regularly with her 2600-plus Facebook followers.

This weekend, the southwest Atlanta-raised writer posted a Washington Post article that struck a cord with her follows and, as of Tuesday morning, had 26 comments.

The percentage of black men with jobs last month dropped to its lowest point in 40 years. The situation is worse for teens, worse again in the South and worst of all in late May as graduates swell the job market.
