Cascade Entrepreneur Featured on Wednesday CNN Morning Show

Home Style Foods, a southwest Atlanta-based business, is scheduled for a 7:30 a.m. appearance on the "CNN American Morning" show.

The top brass of Home Style Foods, LLC, a Stockbridge-based breakfast foods with roots in southwest Atlanta, are set to appear on the Wednesday edition of the CNN American Morning show.

President and southwest Atlantan David Martin said in a news release Tuesday, that his Home Style Foods team will appear on the show at 7:30 a.m.

Home Style Foods is a minority owned and operated company started as The Sumake Sausage Company, in the mid-1990s by State Senator Hildred Shumake.

Initially, the products were sold to smaller independent grocers in the Southeastern United States. The company introduced its smoked pork sausage products (mild and hot) to the Southeastern regional division of Kroger in 1995. This started the distribution of the product into regional and national chains.

Upon the death of Hildred Shumake, Len Parks, the great-grandson of Walter L. Parks, who is featured on the label of the products, acquired the company and re-named it Home Style Foods.

Home Style Foods is now an established brand in the Southeast, and is expanding into the Mid-Atlantic, and Mid-Western Regions of the United States. The company’s goal is to become an internationally known brand. 

The CNN American Morning show airs weekdays from 6 to 9 a.m.
