Cascade UMC to feed 1,700 families over Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a day for food, family and fellowship

and Cascade United Methodist Church wants to ensure that everyone can experience it. Cascade will distribute over 1,700 food boxes on Monday, November 23, 2020
to feed families breakfast, lunch and dinner for the entire week of Thanksgiving. These boxes will consist of eggs, turkey, collard greens, potatoes and much more. This annual effort is a signature initiative of Cascade’s New Advent Choir (NAC) led by Yergan Jones, NAC Director. For more than 30 years, this project has received overwhelming support from church members, community sponsors, and corporate partners. Over 300 volunteers will begin their efforts before dawn and continue until dusk to ensure that all 1,700 boxes are prepared for the upcoming week.

The Thanksgiving boxes will be distributed to families on November 23 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. The New Advent Choir Thanksgiving Concert will precede the box distributions on Sunday, November 22 at 6:00 p.m. For the safety and health of our members, family and friends amid the COVID-19 pandemic, this will be a virtual concert, which will broadcast on the church’s website at cascadeumc.org.
