Cascade United Methodist Church Feeds 1,600 Families for a Week
Atlanta-based church supplies breakfast, lunch and dinner for local families.
Cascade United Methodist Church distributed over 1,600 food boxes on Monday, November 25 to feed families breakfast, lunch and dinner for the entire week of Thanksgiving. These boxes consisted of eggs, turkey, collard greens, potatoes and much more.
This annual effort is a signature initiative of Cascade’s New Advent Choir (NAC) led by Yergan Jones, NAC Director. For more than 30 years, this project has received overwhelming support from church members, community sponsors, and corporate partners. Over 300 volunteers began their efforts at 4 a.m. and continued until dusk to ensure that all 1,600 boxes were prepared for the upcoming week.
“It’s the season of giving and what better way to give than to be of service to others. It’s beautiful to see our community coming together, working tirelessly to make sure everyone has plenty of food for the week of Thanksgiving.” said Cascade UMC Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Kevin R. Murriel
