Colin Kaepernick: Right or Wrong on the National Anthem?
It's the hottest topic on the national sports scene, and Patch wants to know what you think.
The hottest topic in the NFL today isn't Tom Brady's four-game suspension in Deflategate; nor another Tony Romo injury threatening to derail the Cowboys' season before it even begins. Nor is it (believe it or not) how lousy the Atlanta Falcons looked on Thursday night against the South Florida Fins.
What has the NFL world abuzz is Colin Kaepernick’s decision to sit during the national anthem, and how he plans to continue to do so in the future.
“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after Friday night's game. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

Kaepernick, who is biracial, was adopted and raised by a white family. He is also fighting to regain his No. 1 QB status for the San Francisco 49ers.
What followed can only be described as a social media eruption. The next day, a San Francisco 49ers fan in Louisiana posted a video of himself as he ignited Kaepernick’s jersey. The video denouncing Kaepernick appears to have resonated with many sports fans who disagree with Kaepernick’s choice of protest.

But defensive end Adrian Clayborn of the Atlanta Falcons is supportive of Kaepernick:
He can't stand up for his people because he makes millions....so ignorant and narrow minded.

The easy thing to do is to make fun of Kap and his play. How about trying to understand where he's coming from....but that would be too hard
