Southwest Atlanta Author Celebrates Launch of "Growing Up COGIC" Saturday Evening

In her latest book, Niskey Lake resident and author Elizabeth Wilson brings together moving first-person accounts from successful business professionals, educators, artists and others who tell their stories of growing up in the Church of God in Christ.

Though each story is unique, each one tells of receiving a strong spiritual foundation from their mothers, fathers, pastors, teachers, band leaders and choir directors which they attribute to their success in life today despite the constraints of rough neighborhoods, poverty and insecurity.

Among others included in the book are interviews with two Cascade residents: Winston Johnson - Founder/CEO of WinSonic Digital Media Group, Ltd., and  Dr. Robert Franklin – President of Morehouse College.
