Falcons Stadium Update: Mayor's Offer to Friendship Baptist Church Imminent

It appears that historic Friendship Baptist Church, which is on the proposed site of the new Falcons stadium, will soon get an offer from Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed.

According to an article in the Atlanta Business Chronicle on Friday, Reed said the offer will be made within 10 days.

The chairman of the church's board of trustees, Lloyd Hawk, said that after receiving and looking over the offer, the board will make a recommendation to the congregation, which will vote on it, the article states.

The Georgia World Congress Center is in negotiations with Mount Vernon Baptist Church, which also on the proposed stadium site.
