Free SW Atlanta Home Tours and Down-Payment Assistance

If you are in the market for a new home, but worried about the down payment, you should make a point to join the Committed to Communities Home Tour on Saturday, March 30th.

First time and potential homebuyers who qualify and do not currently have a home in their name can receive down-payment assistance from the City of Atlanta to purchase a home anywhere in the Atlanta city limits.

The Committed to Communities Home Tour will include free self-guided tours of homes within these Southwest Neighborhoods:

•West End     

•Westview          

•Adair Park   

•Capitol View/ Perkerson Park       

There will be 8 – 10 houses available for viewing on the tour

Already, over 160 families have purchased homes in the city of Atlanta with $15,000 down payment assistance grants from the NeighborhoodLIFT program. "Several million dollars are still available," said Jay Lawrence with Wells Fargo Bank.

Kingdra Brandon, is a single mom of three, who recently purchased her home in Capitol View with the the down-payment assistance from the program.

“I had been struggling to save for a down payment,” she said. “I was starting to think the dream of buying a home was slipping out of reach until I heard about NeighborhoodLIFT. I bought my house thanks to LIFT,"  Ms. Brandon shared.

Brandon lives in the historic Capitol View neighborhood, and others will get the chance to find their own dream homes in the area, possibly with the help from NeighborhoodLIFT, during the “Committed to Communities” open house event on Saturday, March 30.
