Fulton County Hosts Gun Buy Back Event On Thursday
Fulton County Sheriff's Office is hosting a Gun Buy Back event on Thursday.

ATLANTA, GA -- Want to make some extra cash? The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office is inviting the public to turn in firearms for cash Thursday, June 15. The office said the gun buy back is being put on with the help of community organization S.A.V.E. (Stopping Atlanta Violence Effectively).
The event will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Atlanta Civic Center in Midtown. The organizer, Dr. R.L. White, a 47-year pastor at Mount Ephraim Baptist Church and former president of the Atlanta NAACP, has been longtime advocate of getting guns off the streets.
"Dr. White stresses that this is not an attempt to confiscate guns, nor is it an effort to prevent gun ownership," a news release by the group says. "It is an effort to draw attention to a crisis that is being faced by communities to prevent violence from being an ongoing experience. No questions will be asked so that sellers will not feel threatened. $30,000 will be used for this event."
