Letter to the Editor: Shelley Wynter “Urban Thug” Report Appalling

Dear Cascade Patch:

It is one thing for Mr. Wynter to write from an intellectual ethnocentric superiority complex, but his institutional “straw boss” report “Urban Thug” report is absolutely appalling.

We happen to live in an area of Metro Atlanta where African-Americans are in a significant minority and the majority of the crimes which have been committed over the past weekend were committed by misguided white and Latinos.

How irresponsible would it be for any journalist or citizens to suggest that the alleged perpetrators should have been shot? This is race baiting and social profiling by a black man at its worst.

I must admit that I have not read much of Mr. Wynter’s work until you began posting it on The Patch. However, I must say that until he determines and clearly defines who or what classes he is including as “Urban Thugs,” his work borders on Race Trolling!"
