Man Convicted In Burger King Slayings: Fulton DA

Nicholas Benton was found guilty of multiple charges, including felony murder, Fulton DA Paul Howard announced Tuesday.

ATLANTA, GA -- An Atlanta man who fatally shot two men, including his accomplice, during a robbery outside a Burger King has been convicted by a jury trial, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard announced Tuesday. The guilty verdicts were returned July 14, the DA said.

Nicholas Benton was found guilty of multiple charges, including murder, felony murder, criminal attempt to commit armed robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal damage to property and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Fulton prosecutors said that in April 2016, Williams set up a robbery to look like a drug deal outside the Burger King on the 300 block of Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway in Atlanta. He opened fire on Reginald Coicou, hitting him six times -- five in the torso and one in the head, Howard said in a news release.

Also struck in the barrage was Quincy Wytche, the gunman's co-conspirators, prosecutors said. Authorities were alerted to the incident by a nearby truck driver who heard the gunshots and called Atlanta Police.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered Coicou, who was declared dead at the scene. Wytche was rushed to Grady Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
