National Church Residences Adds a Director of Population Health
National Church Residences welcomes its newest team member to the regional office in Atlanta, Georgia.

Atlanta, Georgia –– National Church Residences welcomes its newest team member to the regional office in Atlanta, Georgia. Jacquelyn Thornton has joined the team as the director of population health with a focus on helping National Church Residences develop and promote partnerships and programs to fulfill our mission of keeping seniors Home for Life in the communities we serve in metro Atlanta.
“I’m inspired by the vision to blend our mission and my passion to provide affordable housing for older adults with home care services,” said Thornton. “This forward-thinking approach will enable us to expand our commitment to older adults so they may age in place successfully.”
National Church Residences owns/manages eight communities in greater Atlanta and offers a home to 1,230 residents. The not-for-profit organization also serves six other communities in the Atlanta area with service coordination, as well as the 10 service coordinators working on their campuses. The organization is committed to ensuring that all aging residents have access to critical resources needed to stay healthy and to remain independent.

Thornton joins our new team in after serving as a change agent for 18 years in association management with her focus in the field of aging services, as well as 13 years in the public health arena as an analyst. In her last position, Thornton was the senior vice president of LeadingAge Georgia and the Georgia Institute on Aging.
In addition, her career and volunteer activities have been devoted primarily to working with governmental and nonprofit organizations such as LeadingAge National’s Professional Development Network, Co-founder and Board Chair of SageNavigtor, Board Member of Two Sparrows Village, Center for Positive Aging, Atlanta Regional Commission’s Advisory Committee on Aging, Clark Atlanta University Guild Member & Officer, BridgeBuilders of DeKalb & East Point, Atlanta Healthy Start Initiative, Children 1st, NCNW Life Member, Hands-On-Atlanta, and others.

National Church Residences opened the organization’s first regional office in Atlanta earlier this month at 260 Peachtree Street on the north side of downtown Atlanta. This new location will allow National Church Residences to better serve future partners and residents while maintaining the organization’s mission to provide high quality care, services and residential communities for all seniors.
