NPUs Working for Southwest Atlanta

NPU-I is one of 45 Neighborhood Planning Units designed to address needs of local residents.

Last week I stopped by the monthly meeting of Neighborhood Planning Unit I at the Adamsville Recreation Center to learn more about the City of Atlanta's local community leadership boards.

What I found was what appeard to be a well-organized, nine-member board with presentations on everything from the latest charter school news to planning for National Night Out, a police and community partnership program, on Aug. 2, 2011.

It doesn't take much to get involved in an NPU; the first step is to just come out to a meeting.
