Our President's Birth Certificate
Donald Trump may not want to see it but here it is, sent in from a regular Cascade Patch reader.
Cascade Patch reader Dr. Louis Reese, Georgia's first black ophthalmologist, has lived through legalized segregation, the Civil Rights movement and, now, the leadership of our first African-American president.
So Reese was thrilled when the White House released copies of President Barack Obama's original long-form birth certificate Wednesday. So thrilled, in fact, that he sent Cascade Patch a copy to post.
The certificate shows, what the president's administration has said all along: that Barack Obama was born at Honolulu's Kapiolani Hospital on August 4, 1961.

Cascade Patch could not find a post-birth-certificate poll on whether the release has changed opinions about Obama's right to serve as President of the United States of America but, according to CNN.com, a recent CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll showed that more than four in 10 Republicans believe President Barack Obama "probably" or "definitely was not" born in America.
