Those interested must register at http://www.handsonatlanta.org/ Just hit volunteer opportunity for Martin Luther King day link to find Gilliam's Community Garden and register. Â
According to the staff, "We are in need of volunteers and monetary donation. We need a total of $1,000.00 to cover the rental of a portable toilet, along with supplies needed to make this a remarkable day."Â Â
"Establishing our garden was our way to address our community's concern with the availability of fresh foods. We are excited to have been chosen as a host site for the Southwest Atlanta Oakland City community with only a year in development, and we are growing every month and feeding new neighbors every month."
