Rising Water Traps Man, Car in Southwest Atlanta
A series of heavy rains and storms moved through the area late Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.

ATLANTA, GA -- An Atlanta man was trapped in his car Wednesday morning after an overnight and early morning downpour flooded local roads and streams.
Mike Forest told the AJC he took Metropolitan Parkway to avoid local, heavy traffic but wound up in ankle-deep water instead near the Perkerson Road intersection.
His car is now unusable, he said.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch until 1 a.m. Thursday morning for portions of north and all of central Georgia.
