Southern Christian Leadership Conference to Honor Civil Rights Icon Rev. C.T. Vivian
For over 60 years C.T. Vivian has been a champion for equality

Just under a month ago, President Obama awarded our very own Rev. C.T. Vivian with the Presidential Medal of Freedom for being a champion of "greater justice and equality."
On that day in our nation's capitol, President Obama told the world that from the 40's through the 60's C.T. Martin was always there in the fight for human rights and that "time and again Rev. Vivian was among the first to go in."
Now it is time for The Southern Christian Leadership Conference to honor our hometown hero.
On December 12th at the famous Paschal's Restaurant, Atlanta civil rights leaders and community members will gather to celebrate the work and accomplishments of our own Dr. C.T. Vivian.  The event begins at 6 pm, as Atlantans take the opportunity to thank and praise the courage and leadership of the man who was once Martin Luther King's lieutenant.
