The Spelman College debuts "Journey to Memory Falls: A Dance Drama," the culminating performance of Dianne McIntyre

The Spelman College debuts “Journey to Memory Falls: A Dance Drama,” the culminating performance of legendary dancer/choreographer and 2015-2016 Distinguished Visiting Scholar Dianne McIntyre, Thursday, April 21 through Sunday, April 24, 2016. All performances begin at 8 p.m., with the exception of the Sunday performance, which begins at 3 p.m.
“Journey to Memory Falls” will feature award-winning poet/playwright Ntozake Shange, who will recite from her newest choreopoem “lost in language and sound: or how I found my way to the arts: essays,” her autobiography of becoming an artist. As part of the performance, there will also be modern dance interweaved with narratives by Spelman, Morehouse College and Clark Atlanta University students: Ashleigh Armstrong, Amber Clunie, Ve'lesa Dunlap, Michaela Johnson, Alexis Jones, Ciara Jones, Lauryn Lawrence, Qadry Manns, Michaela McKinney, Aliyah Miller, Frederick Moss and George Watkins.
