The Spelman College Museum on Fine Art presents "Tiers of Expression" Friday, April 22, 2016, at 6 p.m.

The Spelman College Museum on Fine Art presents “Tiers of ExpressionFriday, April 22, 2016, at 6 p.m. featuring Spelman senior Cynthia Harris. Using the Spelman Museum as inspiration, Harris’ senior recital will showcase musical selections that address nature and its connection to feminism, independence, and the journey of finding one’s voice. “Tiers of Expression” will include songs written by African-American composers, musical theater pieces, Negro spirituals, and works composed by women.

The Museum’s current exhibition is Black Chronicles II. It is organized by Autograph ABP in collaboration with the Hulton Archive, a division of Getty Images. The exhibition makes available for the first time newly discovered photographs that document Black presence in late 19th century Britain.
