Thieves Steal Lottery Tickets, $500 In Coweta: Police

Police say thieves lottery tickets and more than $500 from a convenience store in Coweta County.

UNION CITY, GA -- Police in Coweta County are asking the public's help in finding the thieves who stole some lottery tickets and more than $500 from a gaming machine in a store. The incident occurred Aug. 30 at the Old Towne Convenience store on Roscoe Road, authorities said.

Security camera captured a vehicle in the 4500 block of Jonesboro Road in Union City that investigators said was used in the crime. (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app.)

Investigators said that the vehicle was driven by the perpetrators that tried to cash in one of the stolen lottery tickets from the original theft. The vehicle appears to be a black GMC Denali XL from the early 200os.

The vehicle has a chrome trim around the lower door areas and a black push bumper.

Authorities are asking anyone with knowledge of these crimes or who may have info to please call Crime Stoppers at 404 577-TIPS(8477). All callers remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000 if the info leads to an arrest.
