
As news of the passing of jazz musician George Duke spread early Tuesday, WCLK began a lengthy tribute, playing many of Duke's songs.Â
Posted on WCLK's Facebook page by Stephen Robinson: "Truly saddened this morning from the news of the passing of one of my favorite artist. Rest in music Brother George Duke. Truly one of the best to do it. I got to see this brother three times in concert. Always a quality show. Met him once in Vegas. Truly a humble dude. Looking forward to the tribute by Jazz Wclk 91.9. Wow. I feel like I lost a good friend."
The radio station wasn't the only metro Atlanta organization to pay respect and expressÂ
The National Black Arts Festival posted on Facebook: "We are saddened by the news of the great George Duke's passing. Our sincere condolences go out to his family, friends and fans. Rest In Peace Mr. Duke and thank you for the gift of music you shared with us all."
