CUMMING, GA — Coronavirus cases continue to drop across the country while the number of those who are fully vaccinated continues to rise, which means there is even more reason to celebrate this Independence Day. July 4 is almost here, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you.

July 4 Festivities

What: Thomas - Mashburn Steam Engine Parade, Festival, Fireworks

Where: Cumming Fairgrounds, 235 Castleberry Road

When: 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 3

From the City of Cumming: The Thomas - Mashburn Steam Engine Parade is an annual July 4th tradition in the City of Cumming. Thousands of people line the streets to celebrate Independence Day. With a wide variety of floats you’ll see local businesses, sports teams, dance academies, antique cars, tractors, steam engines and much more! The parade route travels south on Tribble Gap Road, starting at Forsyth Central High School and ending at the Cumming Fairgrounds.

Parade starts at 10 a.m. (arrive early for best viewing)

Parade Information

Cumming Fairgrounds will host a fun-filled evening from 4 to 10 p.m., with a spectacular fireworks display to begin at 9:30 p.m. The celebration includes music, alcohol, food, games, vendors, and various contests throughout the day. Free admission and parking. No outside food or drinks allowed.

In Buford at Lake Lanier, Margaritaville at Lanier Islands will host a 4th of July Celebration with The Jonathan Ingram Band at LandShark Landing at 8 p.m. on July 3, with fireworks at 10 p.m. The Pick Up Line Band will perform at 8 p.m. on July 4, with fireworks at 10 p.m.

Park admission is $15 per person.

Alpharetta

What: July 4th Fireworks at Wills Park

Where: Wills Park, 11925 Wills Road, Alpharetta, GA 30009

When: Dusk on July 4

From the City of Alpharetta: "Celebrate our great nation with your family under the stars watching a brilliant display of fireworks at dusk at Wills Park. Families are welcome to enjoy the fireworks together but are asked to social distance and take whatever precautions will make them feel comfortable.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines and precautions this year’s event will not feature any of the additional activities as it has in the past.

Charcoal grills are strictly prohibited. Small propane grills are allowed with permit and will be granted to the first 50 applicants.
