CUMMING, GA — Along with crisp air and turning leaves, a fall tradition for many families is a visit to a local pumpkin patch. And while the coronavirus pandemic of 2020 has caused some of the region’s pumpkin patches to modify how they operate, quite a few will be open this fall. We have hours, attractions and activities as the pumpkin-picking season ramps up.

In many cases, coronavirus precautions have merely changed — not shut down — area pumpkin patches and their entertainment options. Below is a list of some of our favorite pumpkin patches near Cumming.

  • Attractions: Family Farm pumpkin patch offers a variety of different pumpkin types. Some are for decorations while others are great for cooking. The selection changes often.
  • Hours: September hours: open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, closed on weekends. October hours: open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends

  • Season opening/closing dates: Now open, with the last day of season on Nov. 7
  • Attractions: Tickets include corn maze and fun park (petting zoo, slides, swings, jumping pillow, corn crib and more). The flashlight corn maze starts at dark on Fridays and Saturdays. Adult Night Fall Fest will be held on Nov. 7.
  • Hours: The farm is open 10 a.m.-10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sundays. The flashlight corn maze starts at dark on Fridays and Saturdays.
