Body Of Missing Buford Man Found In Hall County
Jesse Dean Day, 60, of Buford, was last seen leaving his house on March 18. His body was found half a mile away from his home.
BUFORD, GA -- The body of a man who was reported missing was found just a half-mile from his house.
Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators went to the 3100 block of Heritage Crossing Drive in South Hall County on Thursday, March 21 in response to the report of a man’s body discovered in the area.
A resident of the neighborhood off of Ga. 347/Friendship Road found the body at roughly 4 p.m. in a wooded area behind a home. In addition to deputies, Hall County Fire Services personnel
responded to the scene.

Investigators identified the man as Jesse Dean Day, 60, of Buford, who had been the subject of a Mattie’s Call. Day, who had diminished mental capacity investigators said, was last seen leaving his residence in the 3000 block of Friendship Road on Monday, March 18. Deputies had been searching the area for him throughout the week. The body was discovered roughly a half mile from Day’s residence.
Investigators did not find any signs of foul play or trauma during the preliminary investigation. The body was sent to the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

The case remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
