Christmas in July to Benefit Local Nonprofits in Forsyth County
The Kiwanis Club of Cumming invites you to donate specific needs of our local nonprofits on July 7 at The Collections in front of Earth Fare
Cumming, GA 6/18/2020 –The Kiwanis Club of Cumming presents Christmas in July, a gift donation service project benefiting four local nonprofits. The donation drop-off event will be held on Tuesday, July 7 from 3-7pm in front of Earth Fare at The Collection in Cumming, GA.
Individuals, businesses and organizations are invited to participate in this wonderful opportunity to get much-needed items for Jesse’s House, Bald Ridge Lodge, The Place of Forsyth and CASA of Forsyth County (Court Appointed Special Advocates). Over the Christmas holiday, our community does a wonderful job of showing its support to nonprofits. But these organizations work tirelessly and need year-round support. According to Shelly Gates, Cumming Kiwanis President, “These organizations often find themselves in need during the summer, leading into the new school year.” For that reason, our Kiwanis Club created its 1st Annual Christmas in July event with the goal of providing specific needs for nonprofits.
Anyone interested in sponsoring gift items should send an email to cummingkiwanis@gmail.com. Kiwanis Club of Cumming will reply with instructions on choosing gift items to sponsor. Donations will be received during the Christmas in July event at the Collection, delivering items via a touchless drive-thru. Following CDC guidelines, there will be an outdoor pedestrian area allowing space for social distancing. Representatives from each nonprofit will be on hand to share information about their wonderful organizations. This event will include holiday music and a special appearance by 2019 Miss Georgia, Victoria Hill.
Businesses are also invited to participate by entering the Christmas Tree Decoration Contest. To enter the contest, take a picture of your decorated tree and post it to your Facebook page. Tag Kiwanis Club of Cumming and North Atlanta Kids Directory and use #KiwanisChristmasTreeContest. Share on all your social media to promote this gift donation drive.
