Cumming Man Enters Plea In Alleged Terror Plot: Report

Federal authorities accuse Hasher Taheb of plotting to bomb the White House, other federal buildings in Washington, DC.

CUMMING, GA — A Cumming man has pleaded not guilty to charges that he plotted to bomb the White House and other federal buildings in Washington, DC, according to a media report. Hasher Taheb, 21, made his plea on Friday, Feb. 1, before a U.S. District Court judge in Atlanta, the Forsyth County News reported.

Taheb has been charged with "attempt to damage by means of an explosive any building owned, possessed, or leased by the United States," according to an FBI statement.

He had been the target of a Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) investigation for a year, according to U.S. Attorney B.J. Pak. The task force includes the FBI, the U.S. Secret Service and other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.

The not-guilty plea came after Taheb was arrested last month in Buford as he met with undercover FBI agents.

He's accused of attempting to arrange the purchase of weapons, including hand grenades and improvised explosive devices, to carry out a terror attack on the nation's capital, the Forsyth County News reported Thursday.
