Emergency Personnel Will Be Training At River Watch Middle Today

Alert: Forsyth County emergency personnel will be conducting a training exercise today at River Watch Middle School.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA – There will be a critical incident training exercise taking place today, Feb. 19, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the River Watch Middle School. Today is a professional development day for employees, which means no school for students.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office will be conducting this training with School Safety, the Fire Department, EMS, Emergency Management Agency and other agencies. It is likely that you will see or hear a lot of activity if you are in this area or passing by. Here are some details to keep in mind:

• Once the training starts, the campus will be closed to all non-participants for safety reasons.
• There will be deputies at each entrance to the school as well as signs alerting people to this training.
• Although you may hear loud noises, no live rounds are being used in this training. There may also be helicopter activity.
• There is no spectator area for this training, please do not congest the area.
