Ex-Forsyth Sheriff's Captain Sentenced In Groping Case: Reports

The former sheriff's office spokesman was charged in a 2016 case involving a 16-year-old driving student, say media reports.

CUMMING, GA — A former spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years of probation after he was found guilty of groping a 16-year-old girl, according to media reports. Frank Huggins, 74, was found guilty of felony sexual assault by a teacher and misdemeanor sexual battery, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Huggins served as a sheriff's captain and a spokesman for the sheriff's office before retiring in 2010. The charges stem from a 2016 incident when he was a driving instructor, say media reports.

He was accused of inappropriately touching one of his students, a 16-year-old girl. Sheriff's deputies confirmed the teen's allegations with video footage recovered from the vehicle, the AJC reported.
