Father-Daughter Racing Duo Make Headlines With Competitive Finish
Cumming's Jami Wemer and dad, Brian Weimer, made their fight for second the big story in recent finish.

After a busy night of racing Friday at Five Flags Speedway in Pensalcola, the News Journal reported that a father-daughter battle for second place in the Pro Trucks race overshadowed the first place winner.
Jami Weimer, 20, moved into second on late restart and held off dear ol’ dad on the 25th and final lap when Brian Weimer made a last-ditch effort.
“I won’t hear the end of this one,” Brian Weimer joked (kind of). “She drove a helluva race. She’s proven herself.”

This isn’t the pair’s first trip to Five Flags. After he retired in 2013 to help Jami get her career started, Brian Weimer returned to the track last fall to compete with his daughter.
“Our goal is to finish a Weimer 1-2, whether that be me winning or my dad winning, I would call it a dream come true,” Jami said at the time.
