Forsyth Commissioners Suspend Store's, Server's Alcohol Licenses

Several stores in Cumming received official warnings for allegedly selling alcohol to underage patrons.

Several Forsyth County businesses received official warnings—and one a license revocation—from the Board of Commissioners after allegedly selling or serving alcohol to minors, according to a summary of the public meeting Thursday.

Cigar Studio “57” server Linda Patterson's license to serve alcohol was suspended for 15 days, beginning Oct. 4, after she allegedly served to minors.

The board postponed two administrative hearings for:

  • MRM Energy, Inc. d/b/a AM/PM Fuels No. 6, 901 Buford Highway, Cumming and
  • Castleberry Ale House, LLC d/b/a Castleberry Ale House, 5446 Bethelview Road, Suite 102, Cumming.
It also voted 4 to 0 to revoke Ayad Jaber's license to sell alcohol at AJ Energy 8 LLC d/b/a BP Gas Station, 2280 Canton Highway, Cumming, which is in District 1. Jaber allegedly sold to minors.

The board issued a written warning to each of the following businesses, which also allegedly sold alcohol to minors:
  • Cigar Studio “57” LLC, 1370 Buford Highway, Suite 103, Cumming, in District 5; named licensee is Ken Pope.
  • Sterling USA Inc. d/b/a Leon’s Food Mart, 5410 Matt Highway, Cumming, in District 4; named licensee is Hussain Budhani.
  • GGT Group LLC d/b/a Mia Ristorante Italiano, 2300 Bethelview Road, Suites 104 and 105, in Cumming, in District 1; named licensee is Giuseppe Grella.
