FORSYTH COUNTY, GA — Early voting begins Monday for the Jan. 5, 2021 runoff election for Georgia's two senate seats. Voters can submit absentee ballots through early voting locations, mail and drop boxes.

Georgians will decide on both U.S. Senate seats after the Republican incumbents, David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, failed to gather the majority of the general election votes last month. They will face Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock.

Early Voting Hours

Advance voting will be offered to registered Forsyth County voters from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and select Saturdays for three weeks, Dec. 14 - 31, at various locations.

Advance voting will be available on weekdays beginning Monday, Dec. 14 through Thursday, Dec. 31 at the following locations:

  • Forsyth County Voter Registration and Elections Office: 1201 Sawnee Dr.
  • Hampton Park Library: 5345 Settingdown Road
  • Parks & Recreation Natural Resources Operations Center: 1605 Canton Hwy.
  • Sharon Springs Park Community Building: 1950 Sharon Road
  • Midway Park Community Building: 5100 Post Road

There is no voting at any location on the Monday prior to any election.

Absentee Voting

Absentee ballots may be mailed (be sure to use sufficient postage if mailing) or personally delivered to the Forsyth County Voter Registrations and Elections, 1201 Sawnee Dr., Cumming.

Absentee ballots must be returned to the office, either having been mailed or personally delivered, by 7 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted.

Absentee ballots will be opened on Election Day. All absentee ballots remain sealed and under lock and key until that day. Following Georgia Election Code, all absentee ballots submitted and accepted are counted in the final totals for every election.

Preparing for Election Day

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3. If you are in line by 7 p.m., you are allowed to cast your ballot.

On Election Day, you must vote at your designated polling place. You can find your assigned polling location on your voter registration card, by logging into the Secretary of State's My Voter Page, or by contacting your County Board of Registrar's Office.

When you get to your polling place, show your photo ID to the poll worker. A poll worker will check your photo ID, verify that you are registered and at the correct polling location, issue you a voter access card or ballot, whichever is applicable, and allow you to vote.
