Four Pinecrest Students Selected for Youth Leadership Forsyth

Designees To Visit 9-1-1 Call Center, Northside Forsyth Hospital, Meet with Politicians and Visit Capital

Four Pinecrest Academy juniors, Elise Hegeman, Lauren Hennigar, Lindsey McCabe and Rita Rojas, have been selected for the 2017 Youth Leadership Forsyth (YLF) program. YLF is a leadership development and community awareness program for high school juniors seeking to develop and enhance their individual potential. Established in 2000, this nine-month program engages students in interactive workshops, meetings with key community leaders and exposure to many aspects of our community.

Each year, YLF receives around one hundred applications, but only 35-40 students are selected.

During the program, students engage in interactive workshops led by community leaders, the YMCA, educators and leadership facilitators. Students also participate in community service activities and meet with local leaders to learn how they can engage in our community and make an impact in Forsyth County.
