Four Pinecrest Students Successfully Audition for District Honor Band
All to perform at GMEA District 9 Honor Band Festival in February
Four Pinecrest Academy high school band students have been selected to the Georgia Music Educators District Honor Band based on a vigorous audition process, consisting of single and double octave major scales, a full range chromatic scale, a prepared etude, and sight reading. Students earning this honor include:
Matthew Irlbeck - trumpet (pictured)
Alex Pausa - trumpet
Claire Tran - trombone
Lizzy Welsko - bass clarinet
All competed against students from public and private schools of all sizes from 10 Georgia counties.

Lizzy Welsko and Claire Tran also scored high enough to qualify for the final round of State auditions. All four students will perform at the GMEA District 9 Honor Band Festival in February 2017.
