“Furkids is so happy to welcome friends and neighbors to experience our new headquarters and cat shelter location,” said Samantha Shelton, CEO of Furkids. “Some people may remember our property as Wakoola Water Gardens, featuring, ponds, streams, waterfalls, walking paths, birds, bees, butterflies, and breathtaking gardens. Building on that legacy, Furkids now has a natural sanctuary at the waters’ edge for animals and people who love them. Equally important, the size of the new property provides room for Furkids to expand the array of our lifesaving programs.”
Hours at the new headquarters at Union Hill Road will be every weekend, starting October 19 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Operating hours at the existing Furkids cat shelter in Doraville will continue through the end of 2019. The Furkids dog shelter will remain in its current location in nearby Alpharetta. The dogs will periodically visit the Furkids headquarters campus for adoption and volunteer events. Furkids will maintain cat adoption centers at several metro Atlanta Petco and PetSmart stores.
